Have your child/children have their own snack shelf.  They can reach it, and eat what is there until a time you set before meals.  Ours closes 2 hours before dinner.

Apples, carrot and celery sticks and nut butter - you can make your own if you have a food processor.  The kids love to help.

Dates ripped and rolled in coconut

Parents:
Make this with low-fat tofu and it is less than 125 calories for 1/4 cup serving.  Cover serving bowls and it will last in the frig for about a week.

  Party Nuts!

Parents:
These nuts pack for lunches.  Walnuts are high in Omega-3 fats.  Those are the fats you have to eat for good heart health and growth.  These kids only need about 6-10 walnut halves per day.
